AVaikato, Palmerston North and elsewhere similar shows granted guest tickets to factory managers. At certain shows the tickets entitled them to motor excursions, and at Palmerston Xorth even the iprivileges of the grnncl—stand were accorded to them. The Dominion executive, had worked for these concessions in other Darts, and Mr Neilson suggested that the Hawera Winte rSiliow authorities, be approached for similar facilities. In the discussion which followed it was stated that at the last .show at Palmerston North 83 guest badges were issued, whereas at Hawera only exhibitors got free entrance. Mr A\ . Dempster, a Government dairy iu the Waikato, on being invited by the chairman to make a Jew remarks, stated that lie was present at the first meeting of dairv factory managers at Tlatwcra. 3D years ago. The New Zealand managers, said Air Dempster, compared vorv well with those of other countries. If anything, they were lacking in science, but they fremientlv made more practical use of the. science developed in. other countries than was made of it in those countries themselves. They should use 'science as a servant, and not allow it to become a master as it had done in some countries. Jt was well recognised that flie. hovers at Home frock liberties with New Zealand butter which they could not do with the produce of other countries. The Dominion’s butter was made to last well. Abates of thanks to (lie Press, and to the County Council for the use of the premises for the meeting. concluded the proceedings.
