(BY TELEGRAPH— PRESB ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, July, 1. Frank Garnsey (29) pleaded not guilty at the Police Court to two charges' of tailing to account for £77 10s to LI. R. Hellaby, Ltd., and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.

James Fleming (24) at. present serving four months for theft at Wellington, was charged with breaking and entering and theft of money and goods valued at £35 5s Bd, the property of H. J. Walter, storekeeper at Blockhouse Bay.

C. M. Francis, finger-print export, gave evidence that lie had compart’d the finger-prints from a pane of glass on Walter's shop, oomparod with fingerprints at Terrace Gao', end was perfectly satisfied that they verb Fleming’s. The accused was sentenced to .six months’ hard .labour for theft, sentence to he with: the present Sentence. Lie was committed .for trial on the more, serious charges.

It was stated that the accused had deserted from a Canadian vessel in New Zealand during the last three or four months.
