DAIRY FACTORY MANAGERS.

ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association (Taranaki branch) was held this l afternoon in the' Hawera* County Council Chambers. Air J. L. Taylor presided. The following new members were elected : Messrs H. Duff (Ohangai), J. Mitchell (Tempsky Road). L. S. Mackie (Gtakeho), L. F. Jones (Lepperton). J. Thompson (Waitoitoi), Jones (Uruti). H. Limnier (AAV.itjfra). M. Foy (Ararata), E. Guthrie (Midhirst), RT B. B alter (Stratford). The seventh annual report stated that there was an increase of three in membership. During the year successful conferences were held, at Rate a in January and at Moturoa in February. It was pleasing to note the large' attendance' of both factory managers' and dairy directors at each conference. The executive aimed at greater success still along these conference lines. Thanks were due to Dr. Rcakes (DirectorGeneral). Mr Singleton (Director of the Dairy Division), and their officers, whose instructive assistance contributed so much to the success of the' conference. Thanks were expressed to Mr P. O. Yeale, of the Hawera Labortory, whom the factory managers were anxious to assist in every possible way to overcome the difficulties facing the industry. Assistance had been, given bv the freezing companies’ in the provision of facilities for the display of butter and cheese for grading- purposes, and in substantial donation® towards the prize money for butter and cheese grading competitions. The X.D.A. and various dairy companies also contributed toward® the fund, and helved to make the conference ai financial success. It was pleasing to note that seme of t-lie larger companies had adopted the 1923 schedule of salaries, as confirmed at Palmerston North, for their branch managers. The statement of receipts and exnenditure showed a balance, brought forward- at the beginning of the year amounting to £6 10s 7d; total receipts £7B 16s Id: and cash in hand and at the Post Office Savings Bank amounting to £2O 6s at- the end of the financial year.
