PASTORAL INDUSTRY.
AUSTRALIAN WAGES INCREASED. BY GABLE- PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 11.40 a.m. to-day. PERTH, June 19. In delivering judgment in a case wherein the Australian Workers’ Union asked the Eederal Arbitration Court to grant increased wages and improved conditions in the pastoral industry, Mr Justice Powers increased the shearing rates from 38s to 40s per hundred. Station hands were awarded £2 14s 8d per week with keep, and £4 2s without it.
