The first round was played to-day and. the second will take place to-morrow. To-day’s included Compton. 69, Gadd and Kirkwood 71, Josh Taylor and Mitchell 72, Ray and J. K. Taylor 73, Popplewell and. Havers 74, Duncan, Brain and) R. A. Whitcombe 75, Melhorn 7G, Carnegie. Clark 80. In the central section, playing for '42 places, tlie leaders are: Hagen, AVatts and Gunn 72, Renouf and Armour 74, Barnes 75, Boomer 76. The results in the northern, section for ten places were: Wilson, the Scottish champion, 72, Gordon Lockhart 73. In the souihern section Bobby Jones with 66 leads tlie. field, his score being a record for the course. Robson 69 and Aten Elm 74 copie. next. In the. central section the leading scores are: J.
