HOCKEY.
DISPUTE AT AUCKLAND. SELECTOR RESIGNS. (BY TELEGRAPH- —-PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, June 18. At a meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association the dispute between the executive and 1 Mr Kent, the selector, reached a climax, Mr Kent’s resignation being tendered and accepted. The meeting, by eleven to three, had previously resolved to accept an apology and a withdrawal by Mr Kent of his statement in the Press that the Association had refused an A and B trial match. Mr Kent declined, .saying that he was justified in acting as he did. The secretary was instructed to notify Mr W. Newsham of his appointment as selector.
