ELECTRICITY WANTED. ENTHUSIASM AT WAITOTARA. In response to enquiries from residents in the district, Air P. H. Smith, secretary of the Wangan-ui-Rangitikei Power Board ,and Air W. Alorrison, a member of the' board, visited Waitotara on Alonday night. They were greeted with a well-attended meeting. Air E. Parsons- presided. At the outset the chairman explained that the purpose of the meeting was to ascertain if it was possible for the Waitotara. district to be included in the Power Board’s territory (says the Wanganui Chronicle).. Alessrs Smith and Alorrison explained the work of the Power Boa-r x d, going into charges, guarantees, and other phases. On the motion of the chairman, seconded bv Air G. Alexander, it was decided that a petition be prepared for presentation to the Government, asking that the district between the Waitotara river and the provincial boundary at Whenuailcura. he added to tlio board’s district. Mr Smith explained to a. reporter that the board was confident it could introduce power and light in the district in three months, if the petition was successful. On Thursday the hoard would) confer with representatives . of the- Waver ley Town Board regarding arrangements for dealing with the Town Board’s) plant.
