At the Supreme Court, John Kwert, who pleaded guilty to forgery at Pap-a-kura while an employee of a bank, was sentenced to be detained at AVaikeria for reformative treatment for a period not exceeding two yeans. Air Justice Stringer said; the prisoner was a young unmarried man, with a fair education and considerable' ability. He was in a position of trust and Lad received a substantial salary. He stole from his employers a considerable sum of money and fled from New Zealand with the proceeds of his dishonesty.
