EX-BANK CLERK ORDERED REFORMATIVE TREATMENT. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION .) AUCKLAND, June 15. At the Supreme Court, John Kwert, who pleaded guilty to forgery at Pap-a-kura while an employee of a bank, was sentenced to be detained at AVaikeria for reformative treatment for a period not exceeding two yeans. Air Justice Stringer said; the prisoner was a young unmarried man, with a fair education and considerable' ability. He was in a position of trust and Lad received a substantial salary. He stole from his employers a considerable sum of money and fled from New Zealand with the proceeds of his dishonesty. His crime was designed and deliberately carried into effect by a very crafty forgery. MONEY BY VALUELESS CHEQUES. AUCKLAND, June 15. Probation for three years, abstention from liquor for that period, and restitution of £66, was the sentence passed by Mr. Boynton, S.M., on Percivaj Rhys AVingrove, aged 36, who pleaded guilty to obtaining money from various Auckland firms by pie ans of valueless cheques. The offences were committed last September, when the accused went to England. He was arrested on ms return to New Zealand a fortnight ago OASES ADJOURNED. CHRISTCHURCH, June 15. In the Magistrate’s Court this morn, ing charges against Joseph Harlow and Herbert, Robinson of keeping a common gaming bouse, and with conducting a game of chance, i.e., the “roll down” game, were iTcljourneci pending the appeal said to be pending in the AA 7 ellington case.
