EG MONT-WANGA NUI CLUB. MEET AT KAPUNi. The Egmont-W anganui Hunt Club had a successful day at Kapuni on Wednesday, when the hounds met on the property of Air. J. E. Stevenson, and a good day’s sport resulted in one kill, although the runs were numerous. Unfortunately, during the earlier part of the day most of the hares headed towards the untrimmed property, but later on© made northwards through a set of well-timmed fences and sparred wire. A good chase ensued, but “puss” showed, too much pace and eluded capture. A large crowd of onlookers, following by cars and gigs, enjoyed a splendid view of the day’s proceedings. After the hounds were called off, the gathering assembled at the homestead, where afternoon tea was served by the ladies. Suitable thanks were extended by’ the deputy-master, who also expressed appreciation of the kindness shown by r Air. Stevenson and his neighbours in allowing the use of their properties for the day’s hunt. In reply, Air. Stevenson expressed the pleasure it afforded him to be able to help with the day-’s outing and to co-operate with his neighbours in affording the use of the required hunting area.

Among the straight goers were : Huntsman Myles on Dingle’s Pride, Deputy-Master Crocker on Kiriwha, N. Crocker on Overtax, E. Davidson on Silent Dick, S. Davidson on Punishment, A. Mitchell on Buenos Aires, Sid Mcßae on Burbank, \V. Grindtay on Chyria, G. Twidle on Gold Top, J. Clements on Take-All, I. Stevenson on Med, .M. Conway on Frizzier, J. Bryant on Rayo, W. Hayward on Rangitapu, H. Crocker on Buick, and M. N. Ryan on Iceberg The next meet of the club will be at Okaiawa on June 16, when New Plymouth hunting members will also be present.
