(From Our Own Correspondent.) EUCHRE PARTY. This form of entertainment continues its popularity, and on Friday evening last about fifty spent an. enjoyable evening at cards. Mrs Elliot won the ladies’ prize (salad bowl), while among the men Mr Sheerin w r as the winner of a thermos flask. SCHOOL. ' The local carrot and mangold plots are to be judged on Wednesday. The local school boys were defeated by Kapuni at football on Saturday by 20 to 8. KITCHEN EVENING. On Saturday evening Miss Olive Muggeridgc, who is to be married very shortly to Mr T. Hooper, was entertained at a kitchen party by members of the local Bible Class and other friends. Games and musical items made a jolly entertainment, at the close of which numerous odd looking parcels were opened by the fuutrc bride and bridegroom. Rev.* H. C. Orchard spoke very appreciatively of the help rendered, by Miss Muggeridgc to the Methodist Church, iu the capacity of organist, and in other ways/and also of Mt Hooper’s past services to the church. Mr Hooper briefly responded. After supper Mr Burton, organiser for the Y.M.8.C., addressed the young men, and invited them to.a B.C. camp to be held on July 7 at Lepperton.
