FRANCE INCREASES TAX. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received 12.20 p.m. to-day. MELBOURNE, June 14. The Federal Prime Minister (Mr S. M. Bruce) has been advised from London that the tax now levied on frozen meat imported by France will be increased from Jd to approximately Jd per found in July next. The increase favours Argentina, which under a reciprocal treaty between that country and France pays only Id per pound tax.
