SHEEP FOR ARGENTINE.
AVEST COAST EXPORTS. STUB LINCOLNS AND ROMNEYS. A A particularly valuable, lot of stud sheep, among which notable Lincoln and Romney flocks of the AVest Coast district will be represented, are to be shipped for South America by the s.s. Port Napier, due to sail from Welling, ton. about June 25. The Lincolns, which comprise a select lot of ten stud one-shear rams and an equal number of one-shear ewes in lamb, were selected from Air. AV. H. Wybourne’s old-established stud' at Waitotara.. The rams are grand-headed sheep of good size and with plenty of bone, while they are all selected specially for the lustre, quality, and evenness of their wool. The ewes are an even lot iii type, and are also beautifully woolled. It is many years since Lincoln ewes have been shipped from any New Zealand flock to South America. The Romneys comprise four ram lanih'S selected from the well-known Alaxwelltown studs of Alessrs Blair and Hunter and Air. J. G. Alexander. The two secured from the former breeders were both exhibited successfully at the recent jubilee show of the Taranaki Aletropolitan Association, and are very typical sheep, being low set, very thick, rams carrying heavy fleeces. Those from Air. Alexander’s stud were sired by his noted champion at the Wanganui Show, and have the same beautiful fleeces as well as being big robust sheep showing true Romney character. This quartette of rams should uphold worthily the reputation of the AVest Coast Romneys. At AVellington they will be joined with consignments of stud rams selected from leading Alanawatu and Wairarapa studs, and also a consignment of Corriedales from Canterbury.
