A correspondent of the. Sydney Referee says: Duke Ivahanamoku. is at Waikiki Beach, at Honolulu—he teaches people to surf. One day when I was there he spent five hours"in the water teaching, without coming ashore. He said it was very tiring. I don’t think the bench is as good as those around Sydney, and the physique of the swimmers doesn’t compare with those of Sydney and Melbourne.
