The adjourned inquest concerning the death of L. E. Wilton lasted all day yesterday at Paliiatua, the coroner’s verdict being that death was due to collision between a motor-cycle and a motor car, but that no culpable negligence had been shown. The cycle was ridden by the deceased and the car was driven by Arthur Hunt, a settler of Koliinui,'and the collision occurred on a recent Saturday night on the Mangamutu Road. Wilton’s mother is a widow, who lost two sons at the Great War. The Victorian State Government refused to allow Sir John Monash, ? who is chairman of the State Electricity Commission, to act as a Royal Commissioner to investigate the management of the British Phosphate Commission. Sir Arthur Robinson hah been appointed in his stead. Q The unamimous decision that the Health Department be asked to consider the question of creating a new hospital district, the Rotorua Hospital to be the base institution, was.- reached bv the Waikato Hospital Board at Hamilton yesterday. The board considered that owing to the geographical position of Rotorua there was no community of interest with the. Waikato.
