ELECTRIC RETICULATION.

WORK IN SOUTH CANTERBURY. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCI ATTON .) WELLINGTON, June 11. A deputation representing the South Canterbury Power Board waited on the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, and asked when the second transmission line from Lake Coleridge to Timaru would be completed, also for information regarding the development of a second source of supply in South Canterbury. Mr. G. A. Gavey, inspecting electrical engineer for the Public Works Department, said in reply to Mr. Coates that the second line would be through by the end of August. Regarding the second source, Mr. Coates stated that, according to calculations, the next installation should be started in 1927. It would be a mistake to say definitely whether it would be in South Canterbury or not, as all data must be examined. Replying to the Hon. F. J. Rolleston, Mr. Gavey said that the new Coleridge unit would be operating in July.
