HAWERA MALE CHOIR.

CONCERT TO-AIORROW EVENING

A FINE PROGRAMME

A specially attractive list of numbers will be presented at the Alale Choir concert to-morrow (Friday) evening in the Opera House. The choral numbers will all be good and interesting, and the series will probably be the best ever given by the choir. The rehearsals this week have been most satisfactory, and indicate a fine performance by the choir. There has been a gratifying increase in the number of tenors, and the balance of the choir will be much improved. The first appearance in Hawera- of Mr Harison Cook, the basso whose work has been so favourably reviewed in every centre where he has sung, will be awaited with keen interest by all music lovers. He comes with a great reputation, and has created a very favourable impression everywhere. Mrs A. O. Hemingwav, of Eltham. is a, soprano who is well known all over Taranaki as a popular artist, and her presence will add considerably to the interest of the concert. She will sing Gounod’s “Ave Maria,’’ with violin obligato by Aliss Hopkins, of Stratford, also the great song “Pipes of Pan.”

Two interesting numbers will be given by the Orchestral Society which proved most popular at its own concerts. These are the dances from “The Rebel 3Tnid” and the number with the 'Loir “In a Afonastery Garden.” Both are well worth hearing. The whole- programme will be one of the best ever staged by the Male Choir.
