VOTE OF CONFIDENCE.

SUCCESS OF NEWi ZEALAND LOAN PRIME MINISTER PLEASED. (BY TELEGBAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, June 2. Referring to the succesful flotation of the New Zealand loan for £6,000,000 in London during the. past few days-, the Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates), in a speech, to a large and representative gathering at Dargaviile to-day, said he was entitled to regard what had happened as a vote of confidence, not only in the Dominion itself, but also in the Government. It was a, splendid: testimony to the capacity, progress and integrity of the community and also to the high regard in which the stability of the Government was held in the heart of the Empire. All our cards had been placed on the table. Our balance-sheet had been examined, and 1 had received the approbation of the keenest financial critics at Home. The over-subscription of the loan in two hours spoke for itself. It was now up to all of our people to do all they could to live up to the fine reputation which New Zealand had gained. It was quite true we had our little troubles, industrial and otherwise, but with thrift, energy, and hard work on the part of all sectionsl of the community any clouds would soon roll away. Air Coates was firmly convinced that the Dominion coulcl look forward to even brighter days than, had been experienced in the past. The Prime Minister’s remarks were received with enthusiastic applause.
