Special week-end services were continued at the Methodist Church, Hawera, -on Monday evening, when the Rev. C. H. Laws, 8.A., D.D., gave an address on “The Churc-h and the Ministry in Modern Life.” Dr. Laws outlined the proposals and explained the need for a new theological college. On Tuesday evening friends gathered in the schoolroom for a- social evening, and had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Laws speak on “Character, Fellowship, and Service.” It- was announced at the close of the meeting that over £303 had been promised in aid of the proposed new college.
