An official communique states that a number of unidentified men attempted to assassinate Marshal Pilsudslri. They surrounded his villa, shooting from four sides. Marshal Pilsudslri and his wife, were absent in the city, only his daughter remaining in the villa. \ The National Assembly lias elected Marshal Pilsudslri President of the Republic.
