Miss (1 wen Gibbs, who has been in Christchurch adjudicating the dancing section at the competitions, ha.S\ returned to Rawer a. Mrs K. S. Mortlock, who has been absent on a visit to Helcnsvi’lo and other parts of the Auckland district, returned to Rawer a last evening. The Ivaikorai Band, one. of Dunedin’s old-established musical organisations, and well-known throughout the Dominion, has chosen a conductor from 12 applications jeceived, seven of them being from Australia. The successful applicant is Mr. E. Franklin, late of the Third Artillery Band, who has a highly satisfactory record in New Zealand, and who prior to coming from England, took a two years’ correspondence course of tuition under Mr Alex. Owen, of the Besses o’ the Barn Band.
