HEAVY RAIN AT WHANGAREI.
WHANG AREI, May 20. There has been an exceptionally heavy rainfall at Whangarei and die- . trict, covering a wide .radius. During the 48 hours to 9 o’clock this morning 3.55 inches were recorded. The .continuous downpour since then betokens' flooding of an extensive character.
