OPERA HOUSE. “THE LUCKY DEVIL.” Richard Dix is an automobile racing driver in his latest Paramount picture, “The Lucky Devil,” screening tonight at the Opera House. The star of two nights and a matinee. The star and the supporting cast in an auto story by Bvron Morgan is enough to draw anyone. Many genuine comedy touches are introduced when the star is a salesman, (later on the road his adventures are decidedly humorous. The auto race is one of the best that you have seen on. the screen. Jt is not a hanked track, but an old-fashioned road race, where the turns ar e flat and the skids are many and mighty dangerous. In the words of an old racing driver, “It was a miracle that no one was killed making ‘The Lucky Devil ’ ” As> a matter of fact, in one scene of the race, taken at a turn, one of the cars in trying to negotiate the turn skidded and completely turned over, miraculously landing upright. There is' a splendid supporting programme.
