COAIAIISSION AT GENEVA. GOOD RESULTS ANTICIPATED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. GENEVA, Alay 18. A Dutchman, AI. Loudon, was elected president of the Disarmament Commission. Apparent Ist Viscount:- Cecil and JVl* Boncour (France) have composed, their recent difference of opinion, -because Viscount Cecil proposed AI. Boncour for the presidency, hut- the latter declined, because the interests of France were so involved lie must have a free hand. .
AI. Loudon emphasised that it was a commission and not a conference; therefore, while it could not discuss freely, he wa-s confident of good and quick results. It was decided that all questions for preparation should be referred to . a joint military and technical commission. This allows the United States to be represented without participating in the League’s permanent disarmament commission.
