MEETING AT WELLINGTON. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Alay 18. A meeting of the unemployed yesterday was attended by 220 men and women. A committee was appointed to look after the interests of the unemployed. A resolution was carried unanimously recording a protest against the action of the Government in bringing large shipments of workers to New Zealand while a grave unemployment problem remained • unsolved. “AVe believe this to- be a direct attack on the wages and conditions of all workers, and call upon the Government to take steps to provide work for the maintenanve for all unemployed.”
