EXTR AOJtDI NAI<Y STidi t . A few weeks ago there came from Burma an extraordinary story ox a •‘wonder child” —a boy little more trial, a uaoy, who holds multitudes spelibouiul by his eloquence. -Now comes the reported discovery of a miracK worse;- in circumstances which won in appear fantasic were there not so many people piepared to vouch for trie truth of the occurrence.
The story, wtiich emanates from the Moulmein correspondent of the .Rangoon Times, is that at Yennyein, twenty-six miles from Martaban, a liudliist monk is healing ail diseases by touch of hand. It is said that the monk, who is Chinese, asks nothing for his services, and has become so inundated with requests for the alleviation of suffering. that he is being assisted by live pupils to whom he is able to delegate liis extraordinary power, though this transferred capacity lasts only one day. Crowded trains are visiting Yennyein, bringing those who are desperately ill or crippled. Among the cures vouched for is out of a girl dumb from birth. She began talking very childishly, but soon spoke after the manner of other girls of her age. The man dresses as an ordinary priest, and leads the strict life of an ascetic. —Calcutta correspondent of the Morning Post.
