ATHLETICS.
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. TO-MORROW EVENING'S FUNCTION. The presentation of trophies won by members of the local club during the season recently concluded, is the primary object of a social which will be held in the Savoy Tea Rooms, under the auspices of the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club, to-morrow evening. In addition to the presentation of trophies, a pleasant programme, which will include dancing and’musical items, has been arranged. Supper will also be served. It is interesting ,to note that in addition to the club trophies, those won by S. Lay and Li. Hunt at the New Zealand championship meeting and those won .by dulb members at the West Coast championship meeting at Wanganui will he presented. Arrangements for tlhe early commencement of the regular club daiiQes which proved so popular last year are reported to be well in hand. '
