Slade, chief Vancouver importer of Australian and! New Zealand butter, is protesting to the Government against the new ■ dumping duty of six cents which is to be retroactive from January 1. Vancouver importers are launching a trade protest through the Dominion. Mr Slade states: “Irish, Australian and New Zealand butter was sold to Canadians at a cent profit when home supplies were short, due to heavy exports to Britain, saving the Canadians from high prices.” A million and a half pounds are liable for duty.—A. and N.Z. Assn.
