According to- figures compiled bv the Commonwealth Bureau -of Census and Statistics, based on the retail prices of food, groceries and rent for the quarter ended March 31, increases in the basic: \vag e will take effect in all Slates from to-day. The basic wage n-ow varies from 13s Id daily and £4 Is Gd weekly a,t Perth to- 14s 7d daily and £4 Ils 6d at Sydney.
