BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES. The vital statistics for the month of April at Hawera showed that 31 births and seven deaths were registered, shoiving respective increases of 18 and two as compared with the corresponding month last year. Two marriages were registered as compared with nine in April, 1925. RAINFALL. For the thirty days ended April 30, 1.34 inches of rain fell at Hawera on seven days. The maximum for a single day was recorded on the 26th, when 43 points were recorded. During April of last year 1.38 inches was recorded, rain falling on 11 days and the maximum (33 points) being recorded on the 16th. BANKRUPTCIES. Only two bankruptcies were recorded during the month, a decrease of four on the figure for April, 1925.
