BELATED SENTENCE.
JAPANESE COMMUNISTS. ARRESTED THREE YEARS AGO. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. TOKIO, April 28. The Appeal Court gave a verdict in the case of Sakai, a veteran Socialist leader, and eighteen followers, who were arrested in May, 1923, for an alleged attempt to organise a Communist Government. Sakai was sentenced to ten years’ Imprisonment without hard labour. One, Yamakawa, was declared not guilty. The others received sentences ranging from seven to eight years.
