The weather was fine for training operations on the Hastings tracks this morning and some good gallops were registered. Before breakfast Rapine did six furlongs on the plough. Star Stranger covered a mile in 1.40. Reremoana, ‘ working by himself, did five furlongs in 1.3. Grand Knight did a couple of circuits.

Autqmne and l Lady Joyce together went bnee round at a fast clip.

Ivaahumanu was the first out after breakfast, going two rounds on the outside of the course proper and finishing up the last three furlongs at top speed. General Carrington and Jubilee together went two circuits at half-pace. Wairipo strode out well over two circuits. Wilmoreana was sent once round at a solid pace.

Plain Sailing went a- circuit, sprinting home over the last four furlongs.

Serenade and Vivo hopped off at the four furlongs post, cutting out the distance in 52 2-ssee. and finishing together. Killocli, going well, went once round in 1.41 2-5.

Suspicion and Coot did a useful gallop once round on the lower plough. Royal Damon was restricted to halfpace. Little River and Hillation did six furlongs in 1.18. Little River finishing well in front. Peneus, with M. McCarten up, sprinted half a mile in 48 2-ssec. Glentruin was restricted to halfpace, doing a couple of circuits. Hukuwai and Caluma did half a mjle in 50sec., finishing together. Gaze and Malatour went once round at top, Gaze finishing well in front. Egyptian Flower after a couple of circuits sprinted home over the last four furlongs. Haurangi went well over a circuit.
