METHOD OF ELECTION
LEGISLATION PROMISED
(BY TELEGBAPH FBESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. April 29. Representatives of the dairy industry who remained, 'throughout the proceedings at yesterday’s conference held at Wellington to discuss the method of electing members of the Dairy Produce Control Board, waited upon the Prime Minister (the Rfc. Hon. J. G. Coates) and the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. 0. J. Hawken) to-day and put before them the resolutions passed by th© conference. The Prime Minister stated that legislation would be drafted giving expression to the desires of those who remained at the conference. This legislation would first of all he submitted to Cabinet for consideration, as he was unable to say exactly whether .Cabinet agreed to the method of election on the ttfhnage basis, as suggested by the con(■rence. The representations of the deputation would be considered,. and so also would those of the opposing section at yesterday’s conference who were waiting upon him later in the day.
