NATIONAL CAMPAIGNS.,
BOTH SIDES PREPARING. FOR NOVEMBER POLLS. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. WASHINGTON, April 26. As a result of the Senate's Prohibition investigationj both “Vets” and “Drys” plan national campaigns designed to reach every city, town and hamlet in the United States, for the purpose of arousing sentiment on each side, so that the full strength of each sid© will be brought to the polls in November Congressional elections., The Association Against Prohibition Amendment issued a statement charging the Anti-Saloon League with- raising 1,000,000 doll airs for the campaign. The League in turn issued a statement denying the charge, and asserting that the Association itself is raising 300,000 dollars.
The National Student Association’s poll of student opinion in the leading colleges throughout the country on Prohibition will shortly be taken. In the meantime the United States Attorney, Mr Buckner, in a memorandum sent to the State Judiciary Committee, estimated that it wou 1 d . sfc 70,000 000 dollars annually to enforce Prohibition in New York State.
