MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR.
DEATH FOLLOWS DRINK. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. ADELAIDE, April 27. A mysterious affair -occurred -at Cbon al-pyn. A man named J. Brown called at the home of a friend, (1, George, and -suggested that a party consisting o-f the George- family -'and two visitors should have- a drink. They filled their glasses from a bottle of beer -and a bottle o-f cordial, which Brown produced. Brown -and George and his wife drank the- beer -with no ill effects. George's- son Alfred drank some of the cordial and died in convulsions shortly afterwards. Tkvo other sons and a youth- named Sinclair tasted, the cordial and became ill, hut they recovered.
Brown, was sent to telephone for a doctor. He remained away till next morning, when -he returned and forced an entrance to George’is house. He lay down on a bed- and fatally shot himself. It is stated that Brown was infntu--a/t-e-d with George’,s daughter Florrie, who. however, had shown a preference for Sinclair.
