STAB. (TvAPONGA CLUB). (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a -lair number of players at the Star Ladies’ Hookey Club’s annual -meeting on Wednesday evening. Owing to the iabsen.ee of the president, Airs. Moss, Aliiss Evans was voted to the diair. The annual report stated, inter alia: Last .season w,as most successful, both, financially and from .a playing point of view. Players were to be eongraulated on winning the shield. The club might not be quite so well off financially as it was last ye ( a.r, .as it. had been unable to bold isocial functions, but, never-, theless, the finances were sound. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance, of £24 6s Bd. MlLss J. Guy thanked Miss Evans for the good work she had 'always put into the club .as secretary and regretted having to. lose her services on account of her removal from .the district. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. A. V, Tait; vice-presi-dents, Ales dames Briggs, Evans, A. Guy, W. Bennie, and Knight; secretary and treasurer, Aliss J. Guy; general committee, Misses AI. Guy, Hislop, Evans, president and secretary; social committee, Misses Guy, Hislop, Gargan, Evans, Alelville, Johns, Rothe, and Mrs Tait; delegates, Airs. A. A r . Tait, and Aliss Alelville; coach 1 and selector, Air. B. Briggs. The colours decided on were .niavy ’blue frock, white belt, and blue caps , and sifiall star.
The subscription was fixed at ss, to be paid on or before June 1. The delegates were instructed to vote in favour of playing in the southern division.
. It was decided to- send a team to Feifiling on June 3if possible. Failing this, a team will compete ait Hawera. In the event of ia train going to Feild- , ing. the president (Airs. A. V. Tait) will be asked to go as chaperone. Fares to .a.nd from matches will be born by the club. A resolution expressing the thanks of the club to- the president and secretary was placed on the mimutes, and it was agreed that a social he tendered them shortly in honour and appreciation of their services in the past. It was agreed that the dub hold a ball on the first Thursday in July. Air. L. Chaw ford-Watso n wrote offering a. gold medal to be presented to the most improved player of the .season. The offer was accepted with thanks. The first practice was fixed for Thursday. the 29th. inst.
It was resolved to pay the Park Board £1 Is for the use of the ground last season.
