BROADCASTING STATIONS. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON; April 21. lit is announced that. broadcasting ■stations at Auckland and Christchurch will be completed by June 30. All material is either on ithe way or is to be shipped at once. A proportion of the licence fees' paid to the company has (been expended entirely on preparing programmes, so that further delays on this account will be. avoided.
DIED' FROM INJURIES:
BASTINGS, April 21. Trevor Minnis, aged 24, a single man, an electrician iby trade, whose -relatives -reside in Ait-ken St., Wellington, and who suffered internal injuries after a motor collision on Friday, died; this morning.
ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY: ' WELLINGTON, April 21. William Charles Le-dgett, aged 26, and Stanley Gilbert Taylor, • aged 25, escaped from the Wa-i-pune prison on, Monday night, and have not yet- been found. - - FIREMEN IMPRISONED. WELLINGTON, April 21. Peter Crocker, Frederick Spier, and Joseph Fenn, firemen on the Matakaaa, pleaded guilty this morning toi assaulting the chief steward and the chief officer last evening while drunk. Each was sentenced to one month’s hard labour. APPEAL COURT’S DECISION. WELLINGTON, April 21. In the Bank of New Zealand v. Baken the judgment of the Appeal Court was to the effect that the appeal ought to be allowed, and that the mortgage was available up to a certain amount agreed upon, viz., £SOOO. The bank security therefore stands, and -the decision of the Full Court is reversed. Mr Justice Herdman dissented from the rest -of the Court and thought the appeal should be dismissed. UNREGISTERED DENTISTS. WELLINGTON, April 21. With regal'd to those unregistered dentists who ask for a further chance to qualify by examination, and who were the subject of a statement made by the Prime Minister last session, Mr. Coates now states that a commission will be set up to consider the matter. This commission will sit in time to enable its report to become the basis for legislation next session, if required. MINISTER FOR LANDS. ' i GREYMOUTH, April 21. The Minister for Lands, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, was welcomed at Greymouth last evening.' He received a deputation on local matters promised consideration. He left this morning- for Hokitika.
