TRANSMISSION OF PHOTOGRAPHS
SYSTEM IN OPERATION
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, April 20. A cheque for 1000 dollars was made jout in London this afternoon, trans■mitted to New York by radioe photograph, presented, and paid within an hour.
This is on e of the remarkable tests carried out with his own system of radio photography by a. young American, Captain Ranger. The cheque was photographed on an ordinary negative, placed in a transmitter, and the facsimile wirelessly received in New York, the transmission lieing automatically executed.
The main feature of the apparatus is a glass cvlinder, which is pierced by a strong light. As the cylinder moves a cell operates and the ordinary wireless telegraph circuit produces a facsimile at the receiving station instantaneously.
Another photo message sent across today was ah autographed manuscript by Robert Browning the poet.
