BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 12.20 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, April 17. Giving evidence before the Federal Electoral Reform Committee, the Chief Electoral. Officer stated that the department collected over £2600 in 12 months in penalties; 2s 6d from persons failing to enrol, representing nearly 29,000 electors.
