BABIES.
There are babies here—there are babies there, And babies over the way; And some of them dark and some of them fair, But, whatever the neighbours say, There’s not a troublesome babe, not one, They’re as good as a babe can be; They’re nearly perfection, wee daughter, wee son, And lovely as ever vou’d see.
The baby may live in' some mansion place, Or attic in squalorland’s town; The baby may dress in fine muslin and lace, Or just in a raggedy gown! But wealthy or poor, or healthy or weak, There never was just such another; And lest you are doubting the words that I speak, You’d better inquire of its mother.
