GOLF.

OPENING DAY AT OPUNAKE. The opening day for tlie season of the Opunake Golf* Club took place on Wednesday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members and visitors, andi altogether an enjoyable time was spent by all. The opening ceremony was performed by the president, Dr Church, ancl then a four-ball bogey match was played, A. Hindi and Webby winning with a card of 4 down. The general arrangements were excellent, and were Mn the hands of the lion, secretary (Mr J. Stephenson) and his committee. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies’ committee. The course was in good order.
