JUNIOR CONTROL. THE SOUTHERN DIVISION. . At a meeting of the committee controlling the .southern division of junior Ltugby held at Patea, there were present: Messrs J. Goodwin, Taranaki Rugby Union (chairman), Da'leson, Browning and Taylor (Wave Hey), Murphy, McKenna (Patea), Jones and Davis (Alton). . It wa.s decided, on. the motion of Mr Dal'lisor. that the Hawera team should play borne and home matches with the Waverl.y team, and that the Waverley Cub should pay half the proceeds at Waverlev matches not exceeding 30s. The management committee was elected as follows :—Messrs J. Goodwin (chairman), E. Dalltson and F. •!. McKenna.

TOURNAMENT AT OKAIAWA. _ 4 Evnelleiist entries-have ibeen received for the se.veiii-d-a.side football tournamemt, to be held ait Okinawa, to-mor-row. For the club competition there are 13 entries, and for the primary school’s competition no less than 15, the latter including Stratford and Qpu-

nake and schools from all over South Taranaki. At a meeting of the Sports Committee on Wednesday night, it was decided to adopt the rules as used by the Kaponga Club at its recent Easter tournament. Various officials for the day were also appointed and it was decided to have a working bee on Frday afiternoon to finish the preparation of the ground. In order to get through the long programme of matches, a start will he made with the schools competition at 10 a.m. sharp. Six minute spells will he played in this competition, in order that the games will be finished by 1 p.m.. with the exception of the final, which will be played during the afternoon. The club tournament will start punctually at 1 p.m., and, in order that no time" will be lost, all teams must be ready to take the field for their respective games at the appointed time. In order to eliminate byes at the finish of each competiton the method of reducing the teamsi to eight for the second round, as carried out at ESLtham last Saturday, lias been adopted. The following is the result of the draw for the first round and the order in which games will be played.

With regard ito the schools competition, the usual rules governing these competitions will apply;, viz: Players must not be over nine -Stone in weignt (stripped), and no secondary scholars will foe allowed to compete. Medals will be presented to the winners in each competition. Arrangements have also been maae for refreshments to foe procured on the ground during the day. Given fine weather, an interesting display of football should be witnessed in both competit ioms.
