SOUTH TARANAKI BOARD. I FIRST MONTHiLY MEEI ING. The iinsit monthly nice ting of the South Taranaki Electric Power Board was held last evening. There were present Messrs Li. A. Bone (chairman), E. A. Paoey, J. B. Murdoch, E ! . A. Washer, J. F. Stevenson, N. O. lnnes. The hoard’s consulting engineer, Mr. T. R. Overton, leagl advisor, Mr. J. Houston, and' secretary, Mr. H. S. Eilliotit, were .also present. In view of the fact that tihe meeting was the first regular assembly since the inception of the hoard, the minutes of all the previous meetings were confirmed. The board again considered the application of .the Wanganui-Rangitikei Power Broad for permission to supply electricity to the township of Waitotara in the South Taranaki Board’s district. The chairman remarked that the board should keep the control and not allow any other hoard to encroach upon its area.

The advisability of reticulating the town of Waitotara. and purchasing power from the southern hoard was .considered and i,t wa:s eventually decided that Mr. J. B. Murdoch should accompany the engineer to interview the board and' also residents of Waitotara. The hoard then went into committee to discuss the estimates for the coming year, in preparation for the- annual meeting.
