Wild scenes of disorder occurred at the Australian Labour Party’s conference. -» When the usual closing nour arrived, a delegate moved the, adjournment till next year, immediately an amendment was submitted that the conference should reassemble. The chairman put the motion and the amendment and declared that the motion was carried on the voices. He ignored cries for a division and, hastily picking up his papers, left the room. Pandemonium ensued. Eventually order was restored and the vice-president took control. A motion that the conference be resumed to-night was carried by a large mapnity, after which the delegates dispersed quietly.
