The most startling secret in London’s summer fashion revealed by the drapery exhibition is an attempt to popularise roll-top istockings, which had a -most successful vogue in America. Designers declare that, many will be worn iby fashionable people in the summer time.
The designs, conclusively prove, that the .short skirt is remaining. This has caused considerable attention to be devoted to stockings, many of which are of extraordinary design. The most novel one shows coloured fiowers woven in front. Others are known as bracelet stockings and on them eight een carat gold tinsel is worked around the ankles in bewildering colour tints, with the object of obtaining, as near a® possible, the natural colour. Prices range up to ninety shillings. The entire tracking is of the flimsiest. Gaily flowered surfaces and gauntlet gloves will be embroidered with cornflowers. pansies and poppies.
