A motion expressing appreciation, of the services rendered hy the retiring matron of the Hawera Hospital (Miss R. Lockhead) throughout the six years i.n which she had officiated, and wishing her' a speedy recovery to healtn was recorded at the special meeting of the .‘board to-day, members speaking in terms of high approval of the attention which Miss Locklnad had at all times devoted to her duties.
