A mooting of the Newcastle branch of the Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Federation discussed the-ii* grievances a,ml expressed dissatisfaction at the aJWard granted by the Coal Commission. It was decided to recommend, at two aggregate- meetings to be held on the coalfields- that fourteen days’ notice be given of their intention to strike. The intention was expressed at the meeting that the men were going to attempt to stop all work in the whole of th e coalfields of the State. A meeting of the Maitland field carried a similar motion.
