SOUTH TARANAKI TOURNAMENT CONCLUDING STAGES POST SECTION PLAY. Under good, though rather cold, weather conditions, the tournament for South Taranaki was resumed to-day on the Hawera, Park and Eltliam greens. They all played well and bowlers thoroughly enjoyed the day. The last matches of section play were got off this morning, and this afternoon postsection play was begun on the Hawera green. There was much interesting play and many close results. The results of the last matches in the sections gave the rinks to play in the post section series. These were as belofWi— Section A.—Harrison, 7 wins, Andrews 5, Bull 5, J. Goodwin 5, R. 7, Douglass 6, Quin 5, Spurdle •7, Poy G. It will be seen that those who came through without a loss were R. Hicks, Harrison and Sole. The results of these last matches were:— Section A (Hawera green).—Sinclair 23 v. Brett J 5, Harrison 21 v. Andrews 12, Bull 21 v. Butler 18; McKenna beat Julian by default. / Section B (Hawera green).—Wigley 24 v.’ Goodwin 10, Bruce 24 V. Carman 12; Keys beat Ansley by default; Corkiy 20 v. Christie 18. Section C (Eltham green).—R. Hicks 17 v. Paterson 10, Douglass 28 v. Linn 10, Bary 42 v. Smith 9; Westaway boat A’Court and Townsley beat Mason by default.

Section. D (Park green). —Evans 23 v. Quin 16, Solo 27 v. Tait 14, Butler 24 v. Johnstone 10, Summers v. Hawkins not played. Section E (Park green).—Spurdle 21 v. Poy 12, Kendall beat Roebuck by default, Tiplady v. Champion and Feaver v. Carey not played. In the post section play the conditions arranged were that each team when beaten twice dropped out of the competition, and priority of byes at any stage was given to rinks scoring the most wins during section play, but no team to have more than one bye unless unavoidable. Games to be of 21 heads, and in the event of a tie in any game an extra head to be played. But in the event of a tie in the final game an extra game of '2l heads to be played. The time was fixed at 21 hours, except in the case of the final, which has a limit of three hours. The result of the first series of post-section games was is below:— Spurdle 26 v. Foy 13. Harrison 19 v. Quin 15. R. Hicks 25 v. Andrews 16. Sole 18 v. Goodwin 16. Douglass 29 v. Bull 15.
