NOVEL POINT

SPIRIT COMMUNICATION.

OWNERSHIP OF COPYRIGHT,

COURT ASKED TO DECIDE. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 11.8 ia.m. to-day. LONDON, March 28. Spiritualists crowded the Chancery Court, in which Mr Justice Eve heard a motion raising a novel point, namely, the copyright of a spirit communication. Miss Cummins, daughter of the Court physician, described as an automatic medium, sought to restrain Bligh Bond, a physic worker of world-wide reputation, from publishing the * ‘ Chronicle of Cleoplias." Both claimed the ■authorship of the script, which was purported to. be a continuation of the Acts of the Apostles. Miss Cummins claims that she produced the Chronicle in a trance, while Mr Bond asserts that his hand rested on that of Miss Cummins, therefore the Chronicle was the result of his psychic co-operation. Counsel explained that the first article was an interesting addition to the story of Ananias and Sapphira.

Mr Justice Eve. asked whether the automatic writing was English or Greek, and was informed that the chapter concerning Ananias was in the handwriting of Miss Cummins. The ease was adjourned. Sydney Sun Cable. ,
