EXPECTING A WINDFALL.
A POVERTY-STRICKEN FAMILY. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGH'i. LONDON, March 27. After years of poverty, a Gloucester family is hoping for good news in answer to a cable sent to Australia on their behalf. It is stated that Eli Talbot, whose trade was that of a baker, left home, after which his wife, with four children, was obliged to enter a workhouse. The wife was appointed last year as domestic help to the matron. While tidying the matron 's room she noticed an advertisement in a local paper stating that Eli was dead and asking for information regarding his wife and children, which would be to their advantage. The ad'dress given was in Perth, where inquiries were promptly directed.
