CIVIL WAR IN CHINA.
VARIOUS RUMOURS REPORTED v BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. PEKING, March 27. Communication between Tientsin and Peking has been cut since yesterday. This is believed to indicate that the fighting is in the vicinity of Yangtsu. Chinese circles in Shanghai report that Tuan-Chi-Jui has fled to the Japanese legation, and Marshal Wang-. Shih-Chen, who was recently most active in conveying peace proposals between the combatants, has taken temporary charge of the Government of Peking, but, so' far, there is no confirmation of this.
